Dry needling is not suitable for every patient, and preferences vary.

Patient comfort and communication is our highest priority. Pain is subjective, meaning every patient's treatment approach is different due to differing pain tolerance.

Treatment approaches are always tailored to the individual, with techniques and pressure adjusted to suit your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is myotherapy suitable for chronic pain?
Yes. Myotherapy is highly effective for managing chronic musculoskeletal and nerve-related pain through targeted assessment and treatment.

Do I need a referral to see a myotherapist?
No referral is required. You can book directly with our Torquay myotherapy clinic.

Is Remedial Massage and Myotherapy covered by private health insurance?
Many private health funds provide rebates for remedial massage and myotherapy. Please check with your insurer.

What should I expect at my first and ongoing appointments?
Your initial consultation includes a comprehensive assessment, discussion of symptoms, and a personalised treatment plan. Ongoping appointments are much the same. Assessment is crucial for treatment outcomes to be met.

How is Myotherapy different to massage?  What is the difference between a Clinical Myotherapist and a Massage Therapist?

This is a very common question that is asked by new patients.

Clinical Myotherapists like Jonathan have completed extensive tertiary university study in a health sciences discipline. Clinical Myotherapy determines the causes of pain and then implements steps to treat its source.

Massage therapy is simply a broader approach that treats symptoms but not it's cause(s).
